Rediscovering Transfers

Having taught a transfer class a few weeks back, I was thinking about pulls, one of the simplest forms of direct transfers. I rarely use it, but all of a sudden a painting needed something, but what? More image? More paint? Oil pastels?

While pulls aren’t usually as crisp as other types of transfer, they lovely in their mysteriousness. In this detail of a yet named piece, the pulls on the bottom right are just abstracts, pieces from photos.
