I’m ready to clean out, to improve or paint over several pieces of artwork. Housecleaning is generally good, but a wise teacher once told me to keep several paintings at various stages. It’s your history she said.

Perhaps it is a little like knowing your “roots” genetically. Keeping a few pieces of artwork even if they are no longer “what you are doing now,” will show you where you’ve come from—your artistic roots.

Perhaps these reminders will also help forge the path ahead.
